Don Reid has appeared in numerous theatres the length and breadth
of the country. He says " Don’t ask me to name them all, the list is endless ".
The stars he has worked in theatre with is equally infinite, they range from
Russ Conway, Barbara Windsor, Ken Dodd, to big names from the USA
including Jerry Lee Lewis, The Four Tops, Jack Jones any many more.

Don has produced and directed many shows, some successfully, whilst
others have resulted in bankruptcy, losing his house in the bargain!
But that’s another story.

He has written material so diverse, from serious drama to comedy routines
for the likes of Ken Dodd, John Conteh, Hale & Pace, the list is endless.

This top Comedian is the recipient of a veritable smorgasbord of high profile
awards being presented to him which culminated in a plaque from
The Variety Club of Great Britain, which marked thirty-five years in showbiz!

An actor, comic, after-dinner speaker, singer, musician (Don thinks that a
semi-breve is a dwarf with asthma!) writer, parent. He’s done it all, seen it,
got the T shirt, but still wants to do more!

From Widow Twankey to Simple Simon, Wizard of Oz, he toured with four farces,
in fact you could say he’s had a varied career, Most recently of course headlining
in Ken Dodds "Festival of Comedy" and music hall, both as principal comic and
chairman.

Best described as a traditional British comedian, vulgar in the best possible way
yet never crude. Don quips " I can and do work an audience in whichever way they
want me to, yet never work blue".

Produced the video "Take Courage, I Did " which humorously tells of his brush
with death involving a Granada 2.9 Ghia (twin carb with stabilisers, eccentric
cam etc) endeavouring to ascertain which came off worse. The audio cassette
"Don Reid, Live, allegedly!" And a book published with the title " Bunting & Frolics
for all" Don comments thus "It’s the kind of book that once you put it down, you just
can’t bear to pick it back up again!"
